A few of us have these now and I though it was worth a thread.

They cost ?40 delivered from China. A number of 155s and Fiat Coupes have them from the forums I have seen. I fitted mine tonight and I am inpressed with the results for only ?40 :)

I used them on the road tonight and I am so very impressed, what a difference!.

They would work in the main beams but they are no good for flashing people as they take a second or two to warm up and work properly. I think too many quick on/off flashes could damage them.

I must admit I thought they were only legal when fitted as OEM equipment.

Mind you a speed/anpr camera is never going to pull you over for it so you'll be fine in the UK. :cool:

Is that due to you having washers and headlight levelling fitted? Fair enough if it is!

I can't knock anyone wanting to improve the lighting on their cars though, (the lights on my Evo are rubbish) they are a PITA when you have someone following you or coming towards you with them on though, very distracting.

Why are they distracting???

It's only necessary to have levellers and washers on NEW cars afaik, not older models.

Sounds like the UK have decided enforcements is impossible anyway...which is nice :cool:

Because they are too bright and dazzle!

What is good for the driver isn't necessarily good for other drivers, it's not great driving along with two bright lights boring a hole in the back of your head and shining in your mirrors.
Modern brake lights are also very bright, great for safety and when vision is poor, but sat behind someone who has them on an automatic car in the morning queue into work on a rainy day is tiring to the eyes.

I find the problem with some implementations of HID's is that they can sometimes appear to flicker blue with the car in motion over a less than smooth road. (similar to catching a glimpse of flashing blue lights!!) which causes cold sweats and a racing pulse. :rolleyes:

Yes, I've noticed that too....includes many more eejits who don't know where the handbrake is on a manual car :)

Know what you mean about HIDs and the dazzle, but I've kinda got used to it...

I had my 75 3ltr Veloce right about the time when different coloured bulbs were coming out and I had some fitted which had a blue tint. I made a trip back from London up to here in Yorks in record time late one night - the traffic just parted and let me through!
