idle control valve - cleaning?

is it possible to clean the 'idle control valve' and how?
if it is stuck, which is the noise I should hear turning on the power-ignition key?

Every few keys turns (ignition on to off) you should hear it start clicking which is the self cleaning process. But have a look here:
